Open:  Pledge of Allegiance

Commissioners Attendance:   Floyd DeAngelo, Clint Smith, Paul Zarrillo, Jonathan Brett, Eric Pain, Micki Lees, Kelly Tuturro, George Verno, Eric Hastings.

Absent:  Dale Van Nimwegen, Paul Sullivan

Guest:  Mr. Barry Chenney; County legislator, Mayor Jessy Dwyer, Andre Airas; WV Dispatch.

Treasurers Report:

·         In addition to the financials depicted, and the ordinary monthly expenses that will be paid in the upcoming month, our Workers Compensation renewal will also be paid in the next 2 weeks (an amount of $325+).

Presentation:   William Antoshkiw from the 10-13 Filtilia ~ An Arm in the coast guard.  Advised of Boat Safety course, free vessel check, oil & Gas spills, educational seminars for children and adult classes, towing, can be reached on Channel 16. Always on call.

Commissioners' reports:

George Vurno

·         No report.

Eric Hastings

·         Put a lost and found on website and Facebook page.

Floyd DeAngelo

·         Meet with County Executive Mr. Newhouse advised the commission will get 20k this year and 30k next year.

·         Regarding the log in the lake, advised it’s no longer there and if homeowner sees it again to contact us.

Michael Flaherty/Cathy Ahlers/Kelly Tuturo

·         No report.

Paul Sullivan

·         No report.

Eric Pain

·         Lake level is 9.88 on the measurement, 9 feet 10 inches, passing flow is 3.3 billion gallons a day.

·         No update with the water management plan.

·         No update on the monies for Silt busters.

Micki Lees

·         Discussion on Facebook and press about negative feedback from community.

·         Will revisit the Lake Clean-up for April 2019.

Jonathan Brett

·         Followed up with floating trampolines, nothing states they need reflectors or be taken in at night.  Swim platforms do not have lights and there are no manufactures that make them with lights.

Clint Smith

·         No report.

 Dale Van Nimwegen

·         Copy of revised Methods and Procedures provided to Commissioners for review and approval.

 Paul Zarrillo

·         Herbicide program about 40 acres of shoreline and about 60 acres in the middle of the lake.

·         The bill for the $500k funding has passed legislate state senator unanimously; S-2167.  It is now in the environmental committee of the assembly A-3804.  Advised will keep on Duffy and Patrick Alexander to help contact other democratic freeholders.

 

Public Input

Andre Airas; WV Dispatch:  Advised that he hasn’t published anything that is negative or that doesn’t have a creditable source to back up any information that was publicized.

Mayor Dwyer:  Advised that the communication on behalf of the Greenwood Lake commission needs to be improved.

 

REMINDER:    Next meeting is July 25, 2018 at the West Milford Library in West Milford @ 7:00pm

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

Procedure Policy -  Kelly sent comments to Dale. Will revisit next meeting

Floating Stump Field – Unable to finish project.

Herbicide Fundraiser -  Trying to promote it more and get more donations

Ordinance - Ice Eaters/ Floating Platforms Regulations -  Jonathan and Paul are working on ordinances.  Will have to be approved by the 3 towns around Greenwood Lake.

Grants – Go forward with Amanda

GWL Legislation – Billed passed state, now in the environmental committee of the assembly.

Dock Numbering Program – must work with police and fire department to implement program. One-time joiners fee.
